Adcropper MCP server

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client to Adcropper and brief it like a designer: it builds banner sets and landing pages in your open editor, binds them to your feeds, previews, reviews and saves when you ask.

Last updated 26 October 2026

Server URL

https://mcp.adcropper.com/mcp

Remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP. Sign-in uses OAuth 2.0 with your Adcropper account (scope editor); clients that support dynamic client registration set themselves up automatically. Your password is never shared with the AI application.

What you can do

  • Build a whole banner set from a brief: every size, brand fonts, layout, animation and CTA.
  • Generate sets from templates or straight from a product page, with prices, images and brand colours.
  • Connect a data feed and bind texts, images and videos to its fields, then check every row.
  • Localise or update offers across all sizes in one step.
  • Build and edit landing pages, preview them at every breakpoint and keep custom code untouched.
  • Render previews and contact sheets, run the editor's checks, and save only when you say so.

Example briefs:

Build a 300×250, 728×90 and 1080×1920 set for the spring sale from products.xml.
Use the brand fonts, keep the logo top-left, CTA “Shop now”.
Add a hero with the campaign headline, a 3-column product grid bound to the feed
and a sticky “Shop now” CTA. Check it on mobile.

Before you start

  • An Adcropper account with access to the brand you want to work on. With view-only access an agent can read, preview and review, but not change anything.
  • The set or landing page open in your browser. The agent works in your own open editor tabs at platform.adcropper.com: open the set (or landing page) you want it to work on first. There is no pairing code; signing in is enough.
  • An MCP client that supports remote servers with OAuth, such as Claude, Claude Code or ChatGPT.

Connect your AI assistant

Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)

  1. Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it “Adcropper” and paste the server URL: https://mcp.adcropper.com/mcp
  3. Select Connect and sign in with your Adcropper account.
  4. In a new chat, turn the Adcropper connector on and give it your brief.

Claude Code

Add the server from your terminal, then authenticate inside Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http adcropper https://mcp.adcropper.com/mcp

Run /mcp, select adcropper and choose Authenticate to sign in in your browser.

ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings → Apps & Connectors. If adding your own connector isn't offered, turn on developer mode under the advanced settings.
  2. Create a connector named “Adcropper” with the server URL https://mcp.adcropper.com/mcp and OAuth authentication.
  3. Sign in with your Adcropper account, then enable the connector in a chat.

Menu names can differ between ChatGPT plans and app versions.

Other MCP clients

Any client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP with OAuth works the same way: add the server URL and sign in when prompted. For example, in Cursor (mcp.json):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "adcropper": { "url": "https://mcp.adcropper.com/mcp" }
  }
}

In VS Code (.vscode/mcp.json):

{
  "servers": {
    "adcropper": { "type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.adcropper.com/mcp" }
  }
}

How a session works

  • Your tabs. Tools run in the editor tab you used last. list_editors shows your connected tabs and attach_editor picks another. Several agents can work at once, each in its own tab.
  • AI edit lock. An agent's first change locks the set for everyone else: other tabs turn view-only and follow its changes live. The lock renews with each change and lifts two minutes after the last one, or right away when the agent calls release_editor.
  • Undo and snapshots. Every change is one undo step, and larger changes take a snapshot first that rollback can return to.
  • Checked writes. Building and editing tools return the editor's validation report (text fit, fonts, overlaps, bounds, timing), and agents can render previews to look at the result.
  • Saving is your call. Changes stay in the editor until you ask the agent to save, or save yourself. Two exceptions save on their own, exactly like the editor's panels: disconnecting a feed, and uploading an asset to a landing page.
  • Brand safety. Agents are instructed to use only the set's own logo or the one you provide, and never to redraw, recolour or distort it.

Tool reference (65 tools)

Readreads or renders without changing your content. Editchanges the open set or landing page, or the brand's libraries. Confirmsaves, deletes or replaces, and runs only with explicit confirmation.

Editor tabs and session

Find and pick the editor tab the agent works in, and hand it back when done.

ToolTypeWhat it does
list_editorsReadYour editor tabs connected right now, banner or landing page, and which agent holds each.
attach_editorReadWork in another of your open tabs. Optional: tools use your last used tab by default.
release_editorReadStop holding the tab and lift the AI edit lock so the team can edit again.
open_versionReadOpen a set by its platform editor URL, or attach to it if it is already open in one of your tabs.

Read and check banners

Inspect a set, render it and run the editor's checks. Nothing changes.

ToolTypeWhat it does
get_versionReadThe open set as a stage list, a cross-size matrix of every element, one stage, or raw editor JSON.
validateReadDeterministic checks: fonts loaded, text fit, out-of-bounds, overlaps, CTA structure, animation timing.
render_previewReadScreenshots of one stage at chosen moments, in the same player as the platform preview.
reviewReadOne labelled contact sheet per stage across the animation loop.
list_fontsReadThe brand's fonts with the exact family names to use.
list_button_presetsReadThe brand's saved buttons and the editor's pre-styled buttons.
list_snapshotsReadSnapshots taken automatically before larger changes in this session.
read_guideReadReference texts: the banner plan format, animation presets, design rules and the landing page model.

Build and edit banners

Every change is one undo step in the editor. Nothing is saved until you ask.

ToolTypeWhat it does
apply_planEditBuild or rewrite stages from a compact banner plan, then return the validation report.
update_layerEditChange one layer in place: position, text, style, fill, image, effects, animation or feed binding.
update_stageEditRename a stage or change its duration, loops, stop time, feed lock or background.
set_textEditSet the text of matching layers across every size, for example for localisation or offer updates.
set_actionsEditAdd, replace or remove stage interactions such as hover and click effects.
duplicate_stageEditCopy a stage to try a variant without touching the original.
delete_layerEditRemove a layer and its children.
delete_stageConfirmRemove a stage. Published stages can't be deleted; saved ones need confirmation.
undoEditUndo the last editor change.
redoEditRedo the last undone change.
rollbackEditReturn the editor to a snapshot.
load_documentConfirmReplace all stages with a saved document file. Refused on a real set without confirmation.
saveConfirmSave the set exactly like the editor's Save button. Only when you ask.

Templates and products

Generate sets from templates and product pages, and save your own designs as templates.

ToolTypeWhat it does
list_categoriesReadTemplate categories and how many templates each has.
list_templatesReadTemplates you can generate from, filtered by category, size, tone or text.
get_templateReadA template's slots, theme colours, sizes and preview.
generate_from_templateEditFill a template's slots with your texts, prices and images and put the result in the editor.
import_productEditRead a product page (title, price, images, brand colours) and upload a cut-out of the product image.
save_as_templateEditTurn stages of the set into a reusable brand template.
save_button_presetEditSave a button from the set to the brand's button presets.

Data feeds

Bind layers to feed fields so one design renders every row.

ToolTypeWhat it does
list_feedsReadFeeds in the brand's feed library and which one is connected.
get_feedReadA feed's fields, paths and sample values.
inspect_feed_sourceReadRead a JSON feed URL and show its item lists and fields before creating a feed.

Permissions, data and privacy

  • The agent acts only with your Adcropper account's permissions, on the brands you can access.
  • Adcropper receives only the requests and content the assistant sends to these tools, never your full conversation history.
  • We do not use information exchanged through the MCP server, or your content, to train AI models.
  • Revoke access at any time in your assistant's connector settings; your company administrator can also remove your Adcropper access.

Details are in the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service.

Troubleshooting

What you seeWhat to do
“Sign in with your AdCropper account”The connection isn't signed in or the session expired. Reconnect the connector in your assistant and sign in again.
The agent says no editor tab is openOpen the set or landing page in the platform editor in your browser, then ask again.
“VIEW ONLY”Your account can read this brand but not edit it. Ask your company administrator for edit access.
A tab is held by another agentAnother session is working there. Let it finish, or open the set in a new tab for your agent.
Your own tab turned view-onlyAn agent is editing the set. The lock lifts two minutes after its last change, or when it releases the tab.
Changes are gone after a reloadThey were not saved. Ask the agent to save, or use the editor's Save button, before closing the tab.
